Staff were efficient and courteous. Room was clean and was sufficient for the purpose (1 night stay). The continental breakfast was good and well presented - the area was refreshed with breads, meats, cereals on a regular basis.
The room was freezing when I arrived and the policy of having the guests switch on the heating should be revised - staff know which rooms are being used and should be able to arrange for the heating to be switched on prior to a guest arriving. The Hot water and Coffee served in the dining room was tepid, it did not improve when the staff member went to renew it upon request.
Right in the centre of the city perfect if you're going to the rugby.
Needs money spending on it. Bathroom conditions poor and cheap laminate floor to reception and rooms is not very warm and inviting
It has an excellent location for shopping and nightlife.
The Bar staff and Night Manager were rude and had a terrible attitude, this was not acceptable, which w3e made clear to them. At the hotel bar there was no gas in the lager pumps, we pointed this out, the staff were uninterested, did not even apologise or offer substitute, clearly they do not have customer relations training. Our room was fairly clean, but the duvet cover had mererly been put inside out instead of it being changed. mould, dirt and hairs were around the bath taps. Reception on 2nd floor would not be a problem if the lift worked, this was out of order.
The situation of the hotel is perfect for a visit to cardiff its perfect for shopping as the shops are barely 5 mins walk away. Close to everything castle, stadium,CIA.
It was fab the service was excellent, very comfortable too. Would definately go back
very large room , massive Tv
Was not aware of the bars and pubs below which was a big concern when I saw the hotel. Also had a complimentary upgrade which was a lovely surprise. Stunning hotel and it made our weekend.
Saturday night we cam back after a meal and a few drinks so it was quite late and we had to step over drunken yobs who were spread across the entrance. They were drinking, asleep and agressive. We even had to wrestle with a girl who tried to sneak in behind us when the door was open. She clearly wasn't staying there as reception were denying her access. This was a huge shame as it means I could never recommend the hotel to family as this situation would upset them and find it intimidating.
Booked a double room with my wife, was looking forward as the pictures look really nice on the website! But alas, it was disappointing! upon checking in, we noticed that our room has no windows! A small and horrible dark internal room with no windows. We were told some rooms have no windows. You will get rooms randomly and no guarantee that your room would have windows when booking online. It was also very noisy, till midnight!!
Location, comfort, breakfast - excellent and good value
Cebtral position.Modern decor good bar staff
The room was very clean and spacious, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good. Great value for money :)
Guests who are light sleepers may have a problem with the noise and should bare in mind this hotel is on a busy main clubbing street, however this did not really cause us a problem. The drinks in the bar are very expensive!
Convenient for all of central Cardiff, although lack of parking makes it more expensive. Staff well clued up and helpful -- I enjoyed my stay.
The hotel is in a good location near the Bus and Railway Stations
Noise could be heard from the street until the early hours of the morning
The dinning room is very authentic and interesting. Our room was large and modern - loads of space
We were un aware that is it in process of being refurbished. Also there was a lot of outside noise well into the early morning
Nicely decorated and very clean rooms. Staff polite.
During our stay they were in the process of changing the carpets of the corridor. There was a very intense smell of the plastic underliner they were putting. No response by the staff when we mentioned it.
The everywhere in the hotel had a very smart modern and up todate appearance. The room is not huge but fit to a very good standard
The only downside is that parking is 5-10 minutes walk away and it is hard to park outside the hotel to unload bags.
